Join the family at El Diablo Tranquilo Boutique Hostel

El Diablo Tranquilo, in the bohemian seaside village of Punta del Diablo Uruguay, has been creating memories as a welcoming home for guests and staff alike for ten years and is looking forward to continuing that tradition. If you are a hospitality professional with leadership experience looking to explore new places and test yourself against new challenges, read on. Our ethos is to fully embrace the fact that we're not just renting beds, we're creating experiences. We do this in part by bringing together a large and eclectic staff that reflects the profile of our guests and then striving to blur the lines between those working and those visiting. The hostel is made up of three buildings, a beachfront restaurant and hostel on one property and a larger hostel and staff housing just two blocks away. The pueblo is extremely seasonal, with up to 30,000 visitors joining the 2,500 year-round inhabitants for the very peak season followed by six months of peace and quiet. In either case, our staff lives on site, sharing not just a job, but house and daily meals as well. In addition to filling the usual front of house roles (house keeping and kitchen positions also available) each member of the EDT team has the opportunity to develop an independent project during their time with us. This means that you can exchange one of your work days to do something you are passionate about as long as it benefits the hostel or the community - that might be teaching a skill, volunteering in town, or painting a mural, you tell me!
