This 4-star boutique hotel is located in the uptown area of Barcelona. We have been sending students to them since 2014 and up until now all of them have been greatly satifsied during the internship. The hotel offers good work environment, in a multicultural and multilingual team. Their internships are perfect for students with customer service skills and mastery of English. Although Spanish is not required for some of the positions, it is compulsory in case of front office. They offer shared accommodation approximately a 15-minute walk from the hotel; they also offer you financial support of €350 per month; the meals are not included in the offer but you´ll have all necessary facilities to prepare them yourself. Internship tasks: Guest Relations, Reception and F&B Internship This is a multi-task internship. You will have the opportunity to help at the reception department, as a public relations assistant, and to support other areas. What is Guest relations? This position focuses on customer service and builds partnerships with other departments to ensure that guests’ needs are attended to promptly. Supervise the Front Desk operations and ensure that relevant policies and procedures are being followed and that the highest possible service is being delivered in a friendly and professional manner. Respond to situations and activities at the Front Desk and the lobby. Be the main point of contact for the guests from arrival till departure, and handle their queries throughout their stay. Leading the Front Office team through organisational changes and providing support to the Front Desk operations and hotel room inventory. Welcome and Inform: – Check-in / check-Out – Prepare for the clients´ arrival – Inform about the services offered by the hotel – Inform the guests about cultural & gastronomic highlights -Intermediate with reservations (taxi, restaurant, theatre…) -Management of bookings that arrive by mail, fax or phone; – Handle financial transactions with the guests – Optimise the occupancy rate of the hotel. Food and beverage: -Accompany the guests to their tables and ensure that theyalways have what they need – Advise them to choose their menu and take their order – Bring the bill and receive the payment. – Prepare the dining area, maintain it clean – Serve drinks – Preparation of tables, dishwashing, stocking refrigerators, coffee makers, machine washing glasses -Greet customers: prepare and serve beverages, prepare different cocktails – Advise the guests in their choice of beverage and invent new recipes – Collect the glasses and keep the area neat and tidy. Spanish B1 is required for the reception Accomodation: an apartment for 5 or 6 students (mixed). The rooms are only shared with your own sex (2 or 3 people). Accommodation has a refrigerator, kitchen, bathroom and a washing machine.
