Education First, Shenyang, teach students aged 5 to 15, in a modern, vibrant learning environment. Teachers deliver lessons to small classes which focus on improving students’ oral English. The school has a nice community of English teachers, and offers a high level of support to teachers when settling in to life in China. As an international company, EF offer good career progression opportunities. Applications are welcomed from graduates or final year students from any degree subject background, and a TEFL certification can be completed subsequent to application. No prior formal teaching experience is required, however successful candidates will demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills, a patient and friendly attitude, as well as a passion for helping others to learn English. Knowledge of Mandarin is not required, however teachers will need to demonstrate a strong interest in the country and its culture. Experience of working in China is hugely in demand in the workplace; as well as the language, teachers develop a cultural understanding of the country. Position Duties: English teachers report to a British Director of Studies and are responsible for the following: - Delivering well planned and resourced lessons - Mark and provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work - Facilitate learning for your students and build their confidence - Use a variety of materials and teaching techniques to enhance student learning, and engage student interest - Perform general administrative functions - Plan and organise work to meet changing priorities and deadlines - Brief teaching assistant about lesson content before lessons - Ensure that students are safe and monitored - When required, conduct promotional activities as required by the school - Involvement in curriculum development - Attend and participate in staff department meetings, workshops, curriculum/program planning and special events A work visa will be provided by the school. Salary package: • Airport pickup • £950 salary per month • Accommodation provided - Mandarin class per week • 25 working hours per week • Flight reimbursement • One year employment contract PERSON REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in any subject area and demonstrate an ability to be able to embrace life within a very different culture. Prior experience of working with children or teaching/ training is a bonus, but not a requirement. Applicants should speak English to native level. A TEFL/ TESOL qualification is required, but can be completed subsequent to application.
