THE ROLE:
Do you and your partner fancy doing something exciting together this winter? Why not come and run a beautiful chalet in a ski resort? If one of you is a professional chef and the other a naturally good host ideally with some kind of hospitality experience then a Chalet Couple position will be right up your street. Great opportunity to work hard, play hard and more importantly ski hard!
We have many chef/host couple vacancies in the following resorts:
· French Alps – Morzine, Les Gets, Meribel, Courchevel, Saint Martin de Belleville, Tignes, Val d’Isere, Saint Foy
· Swiss Alps – Verbier, Anzere, Saas Grund, Klosters, Davos
· Austrian Alps – St Anton, Lech
USUAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE CHALET HOST:
- customer service delivery - often telephoning or emailing the lead name on the booking the week before arrival to discuss their requirements
- welcoming the guests into the chalet on their arrival and ensuring that your guests feel at home in the chalet and feel that they are able to seek your assistance with anything that they require
- welcome meetings for each new group of guests
- Being the first contact for guest queries, grievances, complaints and maintenance problems and then reporting all guest queries, grievances, complaints and maintenance problems to the Chalet Manager or Resort Manager
- Daily housekeeping of the whole chalet
- Service of breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meal including service of wines and other beverages
- Assisting with food preparation and washing up when required
USUAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CHALET CHEF:
- creating menus on a weekly basis OR follow a set menu
- responsible for offering a cooked breakfast to order, afternoon tea, canapés and formal evening meal
- catering for all guests special dietary requirements
- catering for children and nannies (including early lunches and dinners when required)
- maintaining food hygiene, general health & safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and presentable at all times
- often responsible for providing staff meal
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE OFTEN REQUIRED:
- previous service/waiting experience, and catering experience
- previous experience within the ski industry is an advantage
- excellent interpersonal skills
- excellent organisation/time management skills
- conversation French is often desirable
