So what is day to day life as an Au Pair actually like? Ultimately, every family is unique, but there are certain things that you’ll be doing as standard for an Au Pair. First and foremost you’re there to help look after the children of the family. As an Au Pair you'll live in the home of your host family, assisting with looking after the children. Typical duties include helping with home work, getting the children ready for school and preparing meals along with entertaining the children during time off, looking after the children if they fall ill, organising the children’s bedroom and laundry and taking the children on days out.
