Are you looking to spend this winter in the French Alps? We are a family run and owned catered chalet company operating in France looking for experienced resort staff to help deliver our catered chalet experience to our guests.
We are looking for an experienced & outgoing Head Chalet Host to join our overseas team in France. You will have previous management experience, you must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills to ensure we exceed our customer expectations on every level.
The position will involve working in your chalet whilst overseeing 2 or 3 other members of the team, whilst ensuring we provide a first class experience for each and every guest.
Previous seasonal chalet work is essential along with proven management & catering skills. You will have worked in the hospitality industry; be able to demonstrating high standards of cleanliness and presentation; have excellent communication and customer service skills; be fun and outgoing with a flexible “can do” attitude.
Skills and experience required:
· You will be able to demonstrate previous staff management experience
· Have worked within the hospitality industry
· Can demonstrate excellent Customer Service & interpersonal Skills
· Have a can do attitude and be able to motivate others
· Have excellent organisational skills
· Have commercial catering experience
· Have a flexible and pro-active hands on approach to unfolding situations
· Be able to work on your own initiative & manage your time effectively
· Be an excellent team player
· Conversational French would be an advantage
· Full clean driving license
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Supervising and managing the other members of your team within the chalet ensuring that staff are motivated and standards are monitored
· To provide and serve a continental and cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, and a 3-course evening meals in accordance with our menu plan in a timely manner 6 days a week
· Serve arrival drinks and canapes on arrival day
· Serve coffee and chocolates after every evening meal
· Help to prepare the chalet for your day off ensuring that a continental breakfast and afternoon tea is set up
· Cleaning of all bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas on a daily basis in line with snowchateaux standards
· Carry out a full chalet changeover on transfer day in line with snowchateaux standards
· Ensure the chalet is well stocked with food, wine, wood and cleaning supplies and that your chalet remains within budget
· Additional responsibilities will include the weekly shopping and ordering of chalet supplies
· Ensure that all snow is cleared from paths, balconies and ensuring that pathways are safe at all times
· Maintaining the chalet hot tub and complete paperwork (where necessary) to ensure compliance with our health and safety requirements
· Ensuring that any maintenance / breakages are recorded and reported in the correct manner
· Carry out weekly ad hoc checks of your chalet to ensure standards are being met and address any issues or health and safety matters with the resort manager
· You will also complete all chalet accounts and paperwork
· Responsible for stock and cost control within your chalet
· You will be responsible for ensuring that all our guests receive excellent customer service throughout their stay
· Exceed guests expectation on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, New Year etc
· Ensure that any guest or staff queries are dealt with and passed onto the resort manager
· Working with the resort managers to help with the opening of the chalet at the start of the season and assisting with closedown at the seasons end
